While work-based qualifications generally don’t have formal entry requirements regarding prior qualifications, successful completion typically requires:
– Current employment in a relevant position within the sector of your chosen qualification
– Ability to read and write English to a satisfactory level
– A job role varied enough to fulfil the requirements of all units within the qualification
Our initial assessment process will ensure you’re enrolled in the most suitable qualification at the appropriate level for your development needs.
Do I need to be employed to register for a work-based qualification?
Yes, it would be best if you were currently working in the sector relevant to your chosen qualification. For example, you must be in a team-leading or management role to complete a management qualification. However:
– The job doesn’t have to be permanent or full-time
– There’s no minimum weekly hour’s requirement
– Temporary or voluntary positions are acceptable
The key is that your job must provide enough variety and opportunities to generate evidence to demonstrate competency and meet the requirements of all units in your qualification.

What are Guided Learning Hours (GLH)?

– Full payment upon registration
– Monthly instalment plans via direct debit or standing order
Please note that we don’t have access to funding for work-based qualifications and don’t accept Student Loans or Advanced Learner Loans.

What happens after I register for a qualification with Aim Higher Training?
Once you’ve expressed interest, completed a registration form and been accepted:
1. We’ll conduct an initial assessment to ensure you’re on the suitable qualification at the correct level
2. Upon registration, you’ll receive a welcome email with information about resources and study materials
3. Your assigned coach/assessor will contact you to share the details of your induction session and will schedule your first meeting
