This qualification is intended for those who need to acquire the knowledge to assess occupational competence in the work environment and vocational skills, knowledge, and understanding in environments other than the workplace (for example, a workshop, classroom, or other training environment).

Not currently in an assessment role and looking to extend knowledge and understanding and extend competence in an assessor role
This qualification will give candidates the opportunity to:

Programme Delivery
This qualification is regulated by the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF). It provides learners with the knowledge needed to develop knowledge and understand assessment principles and practice.
This is a knowledge-based qualification. It is assessed based on answers to questions in a workbook following studies based on our nominated textbook and associated resources. To achieve the NCFE L3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment, a student must produce a completed workbook to achieve a minimum of 3 credits for one unit.
Assessment plans and workbook evidence will be assessed by a fully qualified and occupationally competent coach/assessor on a one-to-one basis using various methods and delivered flexibly according to the learner’s needs.
Portfolio evidence will then be internally quality assessed and externally certified by the Awarding Body NCFE.
